LITERARY YOUTH FESTIVAL: STORYTELLING WORKSHOP

  • Centre for Stories 100 Aberdeen Street Northbridge, WA, 6003 Australia

Everyone’s story matters.

Centre for Stories is a storytelling hub in the heart of Northbridge. Our aim is to collect, preserve and share stories in order to amplify the voices of people across WA and are working towards healthier, safer and more inclusive communities. Learn more about what we do, and learn about the mechanics of storytelling in many different art forms. There is beauty in how storytelling brings together communities, and lets self-expression become the identity of many.

ABOUT THE LITERARY YOUTH FESTIVAL (LYF)

The Literary Youth Festival (LYF) is the first youth-led festival of literature in Western Australia, run by young people in the Literary Youth Festival Planning Subcommittee of National Youth Week.

LYF seeks to raise the voices of young poets, bloggers, playwrights, graphic novelists, novelists and performers. LYF is about creating more opportunities for young aspiring writers nourishing of a literary movement in WA.

This initiative, like many literary ventures in WA, would not be possible without the tireless work of people within the literary community – along with organisations such as WritingWAThe Centre for Stories and Spoken Word Perth – all of whom are constantly making magic happen in the sometimes literal but always literary sense.
