SOLD OUT :: Food for Thought :: Tamil Eelam Feast

This month's dinner will be hosted by Kali, the project coordinator of Tamil Eelam Cricket. Kali himself was forced to flee Sri Lanka and after arriving in Australia by boat, spent 17 months in detention. He co-founded TE cricket in order to create a platform for the Tamil diaspora around the world to participate in national and international cricket competitions and also to bridge the gap between newly arrived Tamils and the established Tamil community in Australia. Join us as he shares stories from home and beyond, while we indulge in a feast of delicious authentic Tamil Eelam cuisine cooked up by the cricket team.

"But we've already had a Tamil Feast!" we hear you say...  Don't fret, we are shining a light on Sri Lankan street food and a Roti that you probably have never tried.  Koththu rotti is a traditional street food of Tamil Eelam and Sri Lanka, which originated in Batticalao (eastern Tamil Eelam).

Wait a minute..  It doesn't look like any Rotti you've ever had before?  Well, you'll just have to come to our next dinner to try it!  Funds for this month's Food for Thought will help raise funds for #TamilEelamCricket and those in offshore and onshore detention.

We have added a Donate button at the end of this page if you want to give Kali a hand funding this incredible initiative.  We look forward to warming your tummies and your hearts with this month's Food for Thought.

Tickets for this event have now SOLD OUT.  Thank you so much for your continued support, it goes a long way to helping those recently settled in Perth, those in onshore and offshore detention.  If you would like to help Kali with his quest to draw bonds and break down boundaries through a shared love of sport, we would welcome any donations below.
