SOLD OUT :: Food for Thought

  • Centre for Stories 100 Aberdeen Street Northbridge WA Australia

**SOLD OUT**

Food for Thought is a fortnightly dinner that hopes to raise funds to support detained or recently settled asylum seekers through the celebration of food, culture and the sharing of stories.  Every two weeks a new community will come together and cook for 40 guests in a welcoming, comfortable and friendly environment.

RRAN and Centre for Stories join together to make this night possible.  We are a social enterprise that employs refugee and asylum-seeker men and women.  The dinners recognise and pay them for the skills they have cultivated in the home.

Food for thought offers an opportunity for refugees on bridging visas to get involved in the community, learn some basic kitchen skills, gain some hospitality experience and meet good people in a comfortable and welcoming environment.

We definitely would love to see you there, and we appreciate your donation to help us along.  If the cost of the ticket is stopping you from coming along, please email us and we'll do our best to reserve a seat for you.

For our first evening on Thursday 17th March, our first head chef, published poet, artist and t-shirt quality control specialist Shanmuganathan “Ravi” Nagaveeran from Sri Lanka.  He will cook up a feast of Tamil foods and share stories from home and beyond.

Please support us and people who really need assistance in offshore detention and be rewarded with great food, fantastic company and a lovely night out.
