Our Life, Our Journey' compiled by Debbie Henderson, Executive Officer, Family Inclusion Network of Western Australia Inc. (Fin WA) has gone to print and will be launched at the Centre for Stories in a series of events, and exhibitions.
The compilation of stories and photographs convey the strong and often heartbreaking emotions felt by families who have had their children placed in State care. These are voices that are seldom heard or acknowledged. This publication gives them that voice.
This is a powerful and accessible publication. It provides a moving and at times painful insight into the experiences of those who are rarely heard in the chaos, disruption and distress of intervention from the child protection system: namely the mothers and fathers who are paradoxically both central and marginalised in this process. (Cathy Humphreys, Alfred Felton Chair of Child and Family Social Work, University of Melbourne).
The exhibition can be viewed on Friday the 6th, Monday 10th and Tuesday 11th from 12-3pm.
