Poetry in Conversation Amanda Joy.jpg

'Poetry In Conversation' is a chance for you to listen to some of Perth’s best poets in an interview format with Robert Wood. These sessions are designed as an introduction and exploration of how poets write, read and talk. They will feature readings of poems as well as the opportunity for you to hear about the poet’s influences, process and work. This will give you the chance to listen to the stories behind the poetry for which they are known. Come along, grab a glass of wine and settle in to hear what our best wordsmiths are up to.

The 'Poetry in Conversation' series will continue with AMANDA JOY. Amanda Joy was born and raised in the Kimberley and Pilbara regions of Western Australia, her first full-length book, Snake Like Charms, was part of the UWAP Poetry series. Her poem Tailings won the 2016 Peter Porter Poetry Prize. She is the author of two chapbooks, Not Enough to Fold and Orchid Poems.

ROBERT WOOD has interned for Overland and Wild Dingo Press, worked for Australian Poetry, edited for Peril and Cordite, been a columnist for Cultural Weekly and is on the faculty of The School of Life. At present he works for the Centre for Stories.
