Food for Thought is a monthly dinner that hopes to raise funds to support detained or recently settled asylum seekers through the celebration of food, culture and the sharing of stories. During every Food For Thought, a new community comes together to cook for 30 guests in a welcoming, comfortable and friendly environment.
This month's dinner will be hosted by representatives of the ASeTTS Men's Group. ASeTTS are a local organisation who provide services for survivors of torture and trauma to assist people in rebuilding their lives. The Men's Group meet weekly and provide each other with friendship and social support. Our cooks for the evening will be Reza Gholami from Afghanistan, Wazir Mohammad Rohani from Afghnistan and Ata Yazdani from Iran, and we will be hearing stories from Al Jwareen Mohammed Mushin from Kuwait and Adel Dakhfali from Iraq.
We would love to see you there, and we appreciate your donation to help us along. Tickets sell out fast so grab yours ASAP.
Please support us and people who remain in immigration detention and be rewarded with great food, fantastic company and a lovely night out.
We hope to see you there!
