Join us on May 25th to celebrate Africa Day. The Centre for Stories will have an evening of song, film and conversation to mark a day of joy in honour of the continent as a whole. This will include a welcome performance from the Burundi Peace Choir, a screening of the short film Clay Pot Melody and a panel conversation with ‘ Ways of Being Here’ writers Yirga Woldeyes, Rafief Ismail and Yuot Alaak. This will be followed by nibbles and drinks, which will give you the opportunity to share in this community event.
Africa Day is a chance for everyone to learn, embrace and praise African foods, stories and peoples. It offers an opportunity to learn more about Africans here in Western Australia and to engage with the best cultural expressions of African cultures in all their diversity and richness.
