  • Centre for Stories 100 Aberdeen Street Northbridge, WA, 6003 Australia (map)

Food for Thought is a monthly dinner that hopes to raise funds to support detained or recently settled asylum seekers through the celebration of food, culture and the sharing of stories. Every last Thursday of the month a new community will come together and cook for 30 guests in a welcoming, comfortable and friendly environment.

Dawood is an activist and former refugee who sought safety in Australia after fleeing danger in Afghanistan and Pakistan. As a member of the Hazara ethnic minority he is a survivor of terrorism, however after arriving in Australia by boat he had further obstacles to overcome which included surviving immigration detention and building a new life for himself here in Perth.

We would love to see you there, and we appreciate your donation to help us along. If the cost of the ticket is stopping you from coming along, please email us and we'll do our best to reserve a seat for you.

Please support us and people who remain in immigration detention and be rewarded with great food, fantastic company and a lovely night out.

We hope to see you there!
