Taberna Lifecraft: Future Visions of Australian Identity

Taberna Lifecraft is an ongoing series of interviews with migrant and refugee Australian identities.

Writer and Artist SJ Finch is asking for interview subjects to talk to about the real and everyday Australia that they experience in their lives. It is hoped that by discussing identities that actually exist and adding these to ideas of nationhood, we can unpack the concept of Australian identity and confront the nation's anxiety about its future and its repressed histories. These stories will be added to a much larger project in the future.

Discussion will follow these prompts:

You are an Australian, and therefore everything about your is Australia's identity.

You want to be Australian, and therefore you are Australia's future identity.

Taberna Lifecraft interviews take place every Friday starting this Friday 27 November at 4pm til 530pm at the Centre for Stories (100 Aberdeen Street, Northbridge). Please come down and have a chat. It will be an informal, but very passionate and committed discussion with tea and biscuits.
