Centre for Stories

The draft of “Always Accra” was developed at the Melbourne Theatre Company for their Cybec Play Readings in 2019. It was directed by Bridget Balodis, and Mararo recently collaborated on it with Matt Edgerton through Australian Plays Transform. The play centers around the complex relationship between a mother and daughter, following the disappearance of a young man in Accra, Ghana. The work explores themes of heritage, faith, and the lengths we will go to leave a mark in the world.
