BRIGHT LIGHTS, NO CITY
Bright Lights No City is a project documenting LGBTQIA+ youth experiences about growing up queer in regional WA. A series of nine stories, five oral stories and four written stories, have been thoughtfully crafted with the help of Oral Storytelling Trainer, Sisonke Msimang, and Writing Expert, Susan Midalia.
On the 17th May 2018, the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, six storytellers shared their stories in an intimate and relaxed setting at the Centre for Stories. All nine stories are available here, on the Centre for Stories website, for you to read, listen and reflect on.
This project was funded by Community Arts Network (CAN). CAN manages the Catalyst Community Arts fund on behalf of the State of Western Australia through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
